3° FESTIVAL CORNISTICO DELL'ETNA 2018, SEMPRE PIU' INTERNAZIONALE 

3rd ETNA HORN FESTIVAL 2018, ALWAYS MORE INTERNATIONAL

Si è concluso il 3° Festival Internazionale Cornistico dell'Etna dal 18 al 22 Agosto 2018 promosso dalla FEBASI (Federazione Bande Siciliane) presso il Centro Ricreativo San Filippo Neri di Zafferana Etnea a 1000 mt in un paesaggio spettacolare.

Quest'anno ha avuto ospiti di primordine a partire dai maestri Hervè Joulain, Guglielmo Pellarin, Giovanni Hoffer, Angelo Bonaccorso e il direttore d'orchestra Antonino Manuli che ha seguito i ragazzi nei piccoli e grandi ensemble di corni.

32 partecipanti da tutte le parti d'Italia e dall'estero.

Sono stati 5 giorni intensi costituiti da lezioni individuali, collettive, gruppi piccoli e grandi di corni, recitals, concerti spettacolari. Ogni giorno un'attività diversa.

Il primo giorno si è esibito al concerto di inaugurazione il M° Giovanni Hoffer con la HJO Jazz Orchestra. Un evento unico e spettacolare in cui il maestro Hoffer a mostrato come il corno sia uno strumento completo che può affrontare diversi generi musicali tra cui il Jazz. Infatti il maestro Hoffer nei cinque giorni del Festival ha appassionato i ragazzi facendo lezioni sul corno Jazz basate sulla tecnica, l'armonia e l'improvvisazione Jazz. Qui di seguito il video del concerto che ha appassionato e sbalordito il pubblico poiché prima d'ora non si era mai esibito un cornista da solista con una formazione del genere:

Il secondo giorno dopo una lunga serie di attività tra cui lezioni individuali e di gruppo, c'è stato un altro grande evento: il recital dei maestri Hervè Joulain, Guglielmo Pellarin e Angelo Bonaccorso con la partecipazione di Francesco Toro al violino, Valeria Vetruccio e e Manuela Cigno al pianoforte.

E' stato un concerto di altissimo livello in cui i maestri hanno eseguito un repertorio che variava del classico al contemporaneo. Qui potrete ascoltare e vedere il recital con tutte le esecuzioni dei brani:

E' stato davvero un concerto che è entrato nella storia del Festival ed i ragazzi partecipanti erano davvero al settimo cielo e motivati ad andare avanti nello studio del corno.

Il terzo giorno, dopo una lunga giornata di lezioni e prove intense con il maestro Manuli e con il pianista accompagnatore Daniele Notaro è stata la volta del recital dedicato a tutti i 32 partecipanti del Festival provenienti da tutta Italia e dall'estero. Quest'anno abbiamo avuto la gradita partecipazione della sezione di corni della Helsinborg Symphony Orchestra (Svezia) e il Gruppo Ticinese Corno delle Alpi direttamente dal Canton Ticino (Svizzera), quest'ultimi prima del concerto dei partecipanti si sono esibiti in un Flashmob presso la piazza di Zafferana Etnea sbalordendo i passanti poiché era la prima volta che i corni alpini si esibivano in Sicilia. 

I ragazzi, nonostante la stanchezza di una intera giornata di attività si sono esibiti magistralmente in un concerto di quasi 3 ore eseguendo sia da solisti che in piccoli gruppi con l'instancabile pianista M° Daniele Notaro un repertorio vastissimo da Beethoven, Mozart, Strauss, Hindemith (quartetto originale)  fino al Jazz con un brano preparato durante le lezioni dal maestro Hoffer. Il quarto giorno oltre le lezioni c'è stato il grande evento in una zona turistica che rimane impressa nella mente e nel cuore a chiunque la visita: il nostro amato vulcano Etna!

I ragazzi partecipanti insieme ai maestri hanno avuto la possibilità di visitare i crateri spenti Silvestri e la zona turistica annessa. Alle 18:00 presso il rifugio La Cantoniera (2000 mt) è iniziato il concerto conclusivo del Festival con grande partecipazione del pubblico nonostante il meteo incerto.

Un grande gruppo costituito da 40 cornisti tra ragazzi e maestri con la partecipazione del Gruppo Ticinese Corno delle Alpi che si alternava con il grande ensemble. Il tutto diretto magistralmente dal grande Maestro Antonino Manuli che per l'occasione ha anche adattato un brano originale per corni alpini con il grande ensemble di corni. Un concerto che variava dal classico, corni alpini,  alle colonne sonore da film fino al Jazz

Un evento caratteristico e emozionante poiché i Corni Alpini suonavano per la prima volta sull'Etna e quindi oltre a un grande evento musicale è stata anche una forma di gemellaggio tra Alpi e Etna!

L'ultimo giorno è stato dedicato alle ultime lezioni e seminari sul corno e pomeriggio il gruppo si è sciolto e ognuno è tornato a casa arricchito da una esperienza e un bagaglio culturale che non dimenticherà mai. Si è creata davvero una famiglia e i ragazzi stessi erano emozionati il giorno dei saluti.

"Si conclude anche quest'anno un Festival Cornistico Dell'Etna STREPITOSO promosso dalla FEBASI. 32 partecipanti da tutta Italia e dall'estero, solisti unici e di altissimo livello come Herve' Joulain, Guglielmo Pellarin, Giovanni Hoffer e Angelo Bonaccorso. Il grande maestro Antonino Manuli che ha preparato i gruppi da camera e l'ensemble grande di corni con grande professionalità. Concerti emozionanti ogni giorno, ragazzi fantastici e talentuosi! Abbiamo avuto la partecipazione del Gruppo Ticinese Corno delle Alpi costituito da persone meravigliose, la sezione di corni di Helsingborg (Svezia), la Big Band HJO Jazz Orchestra che con grande professionalità ha eseguito un concerto fantastico! Il violinista Francesco Toro e le due pianiste Valeria Vetruccio e Manuela Cigno che hanno contribuito a creare una serata magica! Il nostro super pianista accompagnatore instancabile Daniele Notaro che è stato una risorsa indispensabile! I nostri grandi partners Magazzino Musicale Miceli e Strumenti Musicali Casalanguida che hanno offerto ai ragazzi servizi indispensabili e di qualità! I comuni di Nicolosi e Zafferana che ci hanno ospitato durante le esibizioni e un grazie va a tutti gli altri collaboratori che hanno fatto sì che il Festival diventi sempre più internazionale! 5 giorni di MUSICA ad alti livelli e grande amicizia! The 3rd Etna International Horn Festival has been concluded from 18 to 22 August 2018 promoted by the FEBASI (Sicilian Bands Federation) at the San Filippo Neri Recreation Center of Zafferana Etnea at 1000 meters in a spectacular landscape.
This year he had first class guests starting from the masters Hervè Joulain, Guglielmo Pellarin, Giovanni Hoffer, Angelo Bonaccorso and the conductor Antonino Manuli who followed the boys in the small and large horn ensembles.
32 participants from all parts of Italy and from abroad.
There were 5 intense days consisting of individual, group lessons, small and large groups of horns, recitals, spectacular concerts. Every day a different activity.

On the first day the Maestro Giovanni Hoffer performed with the HJO Jazz Orchestra at the inaugural concert. A unique and spectacular event in which the maestro Hoffer to shown how the horn is a complete instrument that can face different musical genres including the Jazz. In fact, the maestro Hoffer in the five days of the Festival has passionate the students doing lessons on the Jazz horn based on technique, harmony and Jazz improvisation. Below is a video of the concert that has enthralled and amazed the audience, since before this time a Horn soloist had never performed with a Big band Jazz:

The second day after a long series of activities including individual and group lessons, there was another great event: the recital of the masters Hervè Joulain, Guglielmo Pellarin and Angelo Bonaccorso with the participation of Francesco Toro on the violin, Valeria Vetruccio and Manuela Cigno at the piano.
It was a concert of the highest level in which the masters performed a repertoire that varied from classic to contemporary. Here you can listen and see the recital with all the performances:

It was really a concert that entered the history of the Festival and the participating guys were really in seventh heaven and motivated to go on in the study of the horn.

The third day, after a long day of intense lessons and rehearsals with Maestro Manuli and with the accompanying pianist Daniele Notaro, it was the turn of the recital dedicated to all 32 Festival participants from all over Italy and abroad. This year we had the welcome participation of the horn section of the Helsinborg Symphony Orchestra (Sweden) and the Alphorn Group directly from the Canton of Ticino (Switzerland), the latter before the concert of the participants performed in a Flashmob at the piazza di Zafferana Etnea astounding passersby as it was the first time that the alpine horns performed in Sicily.
The boys, despite the fatigue of a whole day of activities have performed masterfully in a concert of almost 3 hours performing both soloists and in small groups with the tireless pianist Maestro Daniele Notaro a vast repertoire from Beethoven, Mozart, Strauss, Hindemith (original quartet) up to the Jazz with a piece prepared during the lessons by the master Hoffer. The fourth day after the lessons there was the great event in a tourist area that remains etched in the mind and heart to anyone who visits: our beloved volcano Etna!
The participants, together with the teachers, had the opportunity to visit the Silvestri extinct craters and the annexed tourist area. At 18:00 at the La Cantoniera shelter (2000 meters) the final concert of the Festival began with great public participation despite the uncertain weather.
A large group consisting of 40 hornists among boys and masters with the participation of the Ticinese Alphorn Group that alternated with the great ensemble. All masterfully directed by the great Maestro Antonino Manuli who for the occasion also adapted an original piece for alpine horns with the great horn ensemble. A concert that ranged from the classic, alpine horns, from movie soundtracks to jazz
A characteristic and exciting event because the Alpine Horns played for the first time on Etna and therefore, besides a great musical event, it was also a form of twinning between the Alps and Etna!

The last day was dedicated to the last lessons and seminars on the horn and afternoon the group broke up and everyone returned home enriched by an experience and a cultural baggage that will never forget. A family was really created and the students themselves were excited on the day of the greetings.
